What would I have to do?

If you are a person who wants to connect with your student's grade-level class and with your class administrator this is for you! 

This position is the liaison between the grade-level administrator and the LPO. Directors communicate regularly with the grade-level families to keep them informed about what is happening with your class through the weekly LPO newsletter, the LPO grade-level webpage, and grade-level social media accounts. Class Directors partner with the Class Treasurer and Event Chairs for a successful year of events.

CLASS OF 2026 WEEKLY COMMUNICATION FROM DR. FIELDS

 

Class of 2026 Weekly Communication - 8/16/24

 

Class of 2026 Students and Families:

This is it!  Monday, August 19 begins the 2024-2025 school year and your junior year of high school!  We are so excited to see you in the hallways and to begin an incredible year of learning.  Make sure you have your charged Chromebook, a positive attitude, and a mind ready to learn on Monday (and everyday!).  Remember that our doors open at 8:00 a.m.  Have a great weekend!  Let’s Go Lancers!

  • First Day of School:  Monday, August 19 at 8:28 a.m. - 3:17 p.m.  Remember that school doors open at 8:00 a.m., so please do not arrive prior to 8:00 a.m.

  • Schedule for First Week of School - AABCA:  On our first B day, Wednesday, August 21, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will have their yearbook pictures taken during AcLab.  We will have a modified schedule to accommodate pictures being taken in the morning.

  • 2024-2025 Course Request Changes:  Students will be able to request a correction to their schedule by clicking this link.

  • Yearbook Pictures - Wednesday, August 21:  To order your student’s yearbook picture online, please use this link and the code 8718PT.  Order before picture day to receive shipping to the school.  Reminders!!  Students should not wear shirts with writing.  In addition, no sunglasses, headphones, or earbuds may be worn.  Only religious head coverings are permitted in yearbook photos.

  • PSAT Sign-Up Information:  Lafayette will offer the opportunity for junior and sophomore students to take the PSAT during the school day on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.  Please review this link for additional information.  Deadline for registration is Monday, September 2, 2024.

  • Fall Sports Practice Times and Locations:  Please check out this link for important information regarding Fall Sports Practice Times and Locations.

  • Parking Selection:  If you still need to purchase your parking pass, please go to Parent Pay Online and complete your Parking Permit Application.  Students MUST possess a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance when completing the Parking Permit Application.  Sales will continue throughout the new school year until the lot is full.  All Fines and Fees have to be paid before a parking pass will be issued.  If you have any questions, please contact the Senior Office at 636-733-4110.

  • Chromebooks:  Please be sure to log into your Chromebook prior to the first day of school to check access to your Google account.  If you need assistance, please use this link for support.

A+ INFORMATION

The A+ Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools.

TESTING INFORMATION

Rockwood is dedicated to providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive support for all aspects of standardized achievement tests and analyses district-wide. Below you can find some resources for the assessments managed through the A+ and Testing office at Lafayette.

Additional features include:

  • Stop location, assigned route and scheduled pick up/drop off times;

  • GPS geolocation shows when to expect the bus each day;

  • Ability to sign up for notifications to be automatically alerted about changes in your student's bus status;

  • Consistent and up-to-date information at your fingertips about your student's route. 

  • Visit the district website for details about where to download the app and how to set it up. You can also choose to set up an account via the My Ride K-12 website.

  • Child Nutrition:  Please view this link for information regarding financial assistance related to your student’s nutritional needs at school.

  • JOIN THE ROCKWOOD TEAM!:  Are you or someone you know looking for part-time or full-time work? Rockwood has multiple openings in multiple areas: Transportation, Facilities, Child Nutrition and Adventure Club. We have positions with flexible hours, great pay and outstanding benefits like paid holidays and snow days, and you may be eligible for the Public Educational Employee Retirement System (PEERS) of Missouri.   • The Child Nutrition Department is seeking volunteers to help out in school cafeterias to help cover for positions that remain unfilled.  Any amount of time is appreciated!  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lynda Carter at 636-733-3253 for more information.

  • Missouri A+ Program:  Did you know that the A+ Program can provide students with free money for college?  The A+ Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates who attend a participating public community college, vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools.  Please visit our A+ webpage to learn more about this amazing program!  

  • Lunch and Outside Food Delivery:  Lafayette does NOT allow food delivery by outside vendors (ex.:  Uber Eats, Door Dash, restaurants, etc.).  If a student has forgotten lunch, the student should see the grade-level administrator.  To help lunch lines move faster, please download your digital ID to use at the checkout.  (Check your RSD email for a link to your updated digital ID.)

  • Community Resources for Students  The link to student resources includes information about mental health, suicide, eating disorders, and more.
